Overview
Categories are information that classifies websites by type. For example, naver.com is categorized as Portal Sites, while youtube.com is categorized as Video Services.
This category information isConditional Policies for URL Input FieldBy linking with it, you can apply the same policy to all sites belonging to a specific category at once. For example, you can block the entire Games category during business hours or block the Malware Distribution Sites category 24 hours a day. This allows you to manage policies by category without having to register sites one by one, increasing operational efficiency.
In the category menu, you can do the following three things.
- Managing Categories by URL: Check the current category of a specific domain and modify it to another category or restore it to the default category if necessary.
- Category-based URL Management: You can categorize by directly adding the URL to the desired category.
- Revised URL Category ListCheck the list and history of URLs changed by the administrator, and modify or restore them to the default category.

Managing Categories by URL
**When to use it?**It is used to check what category a specific site is classified under or to correct it if the classification is incorrect. For example, when a conditional policy is not applied as expected to a specific site, you can check the category of that site to identify the cause. It is also used when you need to directly specify sites that should be managed under a category different from the default classification, such as internal business systems.

Category-based URL Management
**When to use it?**This is used to directly register sites that do not fall under the basic classification or need to be managed under a different category. For example, it can be used to add a list of external collaboration sites allowed for business use to the Business category, or to bulk register sites designated as blocked into a specific category. If there are many URLs, they can be uploaded all at once in CSV format.

**When to use it?**It is used to quickly grasp the status of URL categories changed by the administrator or to check the change history. When a specific policy behaves differently than expected, it can be used to track the change history of the site to identify the cause. Additionally, if there are multiple incorrectly modified items, they can be selected at once to restore to the default category.
A list of modified URLs in the categories will be automatically displayed on the right side of the screen.

Usage Example
Scenario 1: Identifying the Reasons Why a Specific Site is Not BlockedIf the Games category is blocked in the conditional policy but a specific game site is not blocked, search for the domain in the category management by URL to check the category. If it is classified differently, change it directly to Games.
Scenario 2: Bulk Registration of Allowed Sites in the CompanyWhen registering 20 external collaboration sites necessary for business purposes under the Business category, select Business in the URL management by category and add them in bulk via CSV when policy exceptions are needed.
Scenario 3: Bulk Recovery of Incorrectly Changed CategoriesIf the person in charge mistakenly changed the categories of multiple sites, select the corresponding items with checkboxes from the modified URL category list andSelective Recoveryreturns to the default category at once.
Conditional Policy Integration
The category is in the conditional policy of the URL input field.TargetIt is used as a condition. Instead of specifying a specific URL one by one, if you set the target by category, the policy will be applied to all sites belonging to that category at once.
How to Set Up Web Category in Conditional Policies
- URL Input Field > Conditional PolicyMoving to.
- Add Policyclick.
- Targetin the item**Please select a web category.**click.
- Select the category to apply. (e.g., Games, Entertainment, Business, Malware Distribution Sites, etc.)
- Set and save the remaining conditions and execution policies.
Advantages of Web Categories
Unlike specifying a URL directly, when you set a web category, the policy is automatically applied to all sites classified under that category. If an administrator changes the category of a specific domain in the category menu, it is immediately reflected in the conditional policy as well.
Example of Policy Configuration Strategy
Basic Blocking + Allowing Work Categories
- Policy A (Low Priority): Target - All sites accessed via the address bar / Enforcement Policy - Access Blocked
- Policy B (High Priority): Target - Web Category Business, Academic Information / Enforcement Policy - Access Allowed
It is a configuration that blocks non-work-related sites by default while selectively allowing only the categories necessary for work.
Differential Control by Category
- Game and Entertainment Blocking Policy: Target - Web Category Games, Entertainment / Conditions - Working Hours / Enforcement Policy - Access Blocked
- Security Threat Site Permanent Blocking Policy: Target - Web Categories Malware Distribution Sites, Phishing Sites / Enforcement Policy - Access Blocked
For detailed conditional policy configuration methods, please refer to the URL input field conditional policy document.
